The ST1000 SCSI Cable Tester is designed to be easy to use. Connect a cable, press a switch, and the LCD indicates the test results within 5 seconds. In addition to Continuity and Integrity testing, the ST1000 also tests to determine that the critical REQ and ACK signal pairs are correctly located in the inner layers of the cable.

All tests are made with only one end of the cable connected to the tester. It is not necessary to remove installed cables.

Tests cables with High Density 68 pin (HD 68) connectors. Includes the following:

• AD1001: Sacrificial Connector)
• AD1002: Loop back Module
• 6141: 9 V Battery
• Carry Case
• Instruction Booklet

Tests cables with VHDCI or 50-pin connectors with the use of optional adapters. Options include:

• AD1003: 68 Pin HD Male to VHDCI female adapter
• AD1004: 68 Pin HD Male to 50 pin HD Female adapter
• AD1005: 68 Pin HD Male to 50-pin Centronic female adapter

  • Tests the shield. A shield failure is noted separately, so ribbon cables may be tested

• Integrity Tests: (Twisted Pairs) 
  • Tests both wide and narrow cable for correct signal pair/cable pair matching
  • Tests for correct pair location in cable
  • Tests for terminations

• Bus Type and Termination Power Tests:
  When connected to a powered SCSI bus will display:
  • Term Power Presence
  • Bus Type - LVD, HVD, SE
  • Diffsense Voltage
